Payments out
To obtain payment out of your fund, you will have to apply to court. Fees are payable and it is possible that the fund may turn out to be of lesser value than the fees charged. You are strongly advised to obtain details of these before initiating an investigation.
If your claim is successful, the court will notify us by way of a form 200. The form 200 can only be completed by the court and must be correctly authenticated for payment to be made. We will then process this payment and send a cheque to your bank account.
Please note that the process can take up to 3 months. The Court Funds Office cannot take responsibility for any delay in the payment out of funds and customers should not rely on funds being available until the cheque has cleared in their bank account.
For further information, please see our leaflet called "Notes for guidance on Unclaimed Funds in Chancery".
